Who We Are: The American High School Band Parent Organization (AHS BPO) is made up of parents of students in any aspect of the band program at AHS.
What We Do: We are an active group that seeks to support the music program. We enhance AHS’s band program by helping to fund scholarships, support enrichment programs, instrument replacement, uniform maintenance and competition logistics, etc. We chaperone activities such as marching band contests, concerts, band trips, and overnight band camp. We are a presence at football and basketball games as we cheer on the Eagles and our marching and pep bands, respectively. We volunteer our time and donate necessary funds.
How We Do It: Our board meets monthly, September through June, generally on the second Tuesday of each month. While voting is limited to board members, the meetings are open to any BPO member. To keep everyone informed about our students’ achievements as well as our own activities and plans, please also check the AHS Music Department website regularly!
We are asking for your Help: Parents, grandparents, alumni, now is the time to support the BPO. As our financial situation has become challenging to meet the basic needs of the music program, we are asking for an $800 donation per student. In recognition and thanks, we will publish the names of our donors in our concert programs and online. Though the financial support is a priority for the continuation of the program, we know that volunteering our time to make each event happen is necessary.
